2. Let's talk fishing. Opening Day is Saturday April 20. Anglers need a license for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. If you need a license, you can visit the state Department of Energy and Environment online licensing page. You can also visit the town clerk's office in Town Hall and they can give you one. The cost is$28 for fresh, $10 for salt, and a bargain $32 for both. The town receives $1 for each person who buys a license. Want to know where they hid the trout? The DEEP tells you here.

3. What's better than fishing? Photographs of fishing! Also from the DEEP: "2014 Angler’s Guide Photo Contest - As a picture is worth a thousand words, the CT DEEP Inland and Marine Fisheries Divisions are looking to share your fish stories with your fellow anglers by welcoming you to submit your best fishing related digital photo to us. For more information and details on how to enter the contest, please see the Photo Contest Information page."
