This summer the residents at StoneRidge Senior Living Community and children enrolled in the Sensational Synergy Summer Program are connecting and growing through a unique opportunity 6 weeks this summer. The program brings children to StoneRidge each week Monday through Wednesday afternoons. During the hours of 1-5 pm children with developmental disabilities, autism, emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and typically developing peers come together with the residents and community volunteers to engage in art, music, yoga, and play. On Thursdays the seniors are invited to join the children as the program meets at Camp Harkness so the children in the program get time to do the activities they did at StoneRidge in addition to swimming at the beach and running around the playground.
This past week Miquette Bishop from I Love My Oms visited the program and shared her Oms as each child and senior painted their own Om. Next week Paralympic Swimmer, Kristin Duquette, will be visiting.
