Theresa Madonna—candidate for State Senate in Connecticut’s 18th District—is pleased to announce the details of her next debate with Andrew Maynard. The pair will hold a debate on Tuesday, October 23rd at 7:30pm at the Stonington Community Center at 28 Cutler Street in Stonington. The debate will be moderated by First Selectman Ed Haberek, who will ask the two candidates questions pertaining to state taxes, spending, jobs, education, and crime.
Madonna expressed an eagerness to engage her opponent in a discussion on the issues that she feels are the most important to this year’s campaign, saying “I very much look forward to another opportunity to present my ideas to the voters in this district. I am confident that voters will see a clear difference between how I believe government should be run and how my opponent has voted during his six years in office. It’s very important for the people of the 18th to realize they have a clear choice on November 6th, and I believe that I have the right plan to move Connecticut forward by reducing spending, lowering taxes, and promoting jobs.”
Theresa and Andrew Maynard have agreed to four debates leading up to Election Day. One has already taken place in Griswold, and the Stonington debate will be the second. A third debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters is scheduled for Tuesday October 30th at the Groton Public Library, and the two campaigns are still working out details for a fourth in Plainfield.
