My name is Christina Morse Scala and as a local artist and teacher I felt the need to spread the joy of creating art to the children of Newtown.
Art is a wonderful tool that heals in ways we cannot explain. After speaking with many people in Newtown, the director of their Parks and Recreation made my request to have a day of art making happen.
This Saturday me and other talented big-hearted people will go down and provide just that -- an afternoon of art making at the Edmond Town Hall in Newtown from 4-8 p.m. I am collecting arts and craft supplies and whatever else people would like to offer.
You can drop off supplies and any other donations to Lisa Coleman at Noah's Restaurant, 113 Water Street, Stonington by Friday at 6 p.m. That would be fabulous and a great help to those in need.
I appreciate your support and wishing you a happy New Year.
