Stonington Police Report Multiple Cases Of Animals With Rabies

The issued the following safety alert on July 18, 2011:

Dear Residents and Businesses:
 
Stonington Police Animal Control Officers are reporting that over the past two weeks , they have investigated approx. ten cases where animals were suspected of or tested positive for rabies. These animals included raccoons, foxes, skunks and a cat. These cases were predominantly in the Mystic area, but some were in all areas of the Town of Stonington. We are putting out this alert to make you aware, so that you may take precautions and be alert. Anyone with questions or in need of assistance may contact Animal Control at 860-599-7566.
