Daily Five: Bank Square Books Book Club

Five things to know for Wednesday, April 11, 2012

 

1. recently announced they are starting a new non-fiction book group. The first meeting will take place Thursday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at StoneRidge. Email or call Bank Square books at banksquarebks@msn.com or 860-536-3795 for more information and to let them know if you are planning on attending the free book club. The first book they will discuss will be the Londoners by Craig Taylor.

2. The  has a couple of big events coming up. takes place this Friday at 6 p.m. Authors Dr. Michael C. White and Patricia Mitchell Stamm will be attending. Tickets are $30 per person and are available at the Library’s Circulation Desk or by sending a check to The Mystic & Noank Library, 40 Library Street, Mystic, CT 06355. The library is also seeking volunteers for their April 14, 2012 Volunteer Work Day. The library needs volunteers willing to do all types of labor from 9 a.m. to noon. You can sign up to volunteer at the library circulation desk.

4. Henry Ford who would later invent the Model T car married Clara Bryant on April 11, 1888. In 1938 after inventing the car founding the Ford Motor Company Henry Ford told the New York Times Magazine: “The greatest day of my life is when I married Mrs. Ford.”
