5:00 a.m.: 1. Ledge Light Health District is holding a flu clinc today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Pine Point School. Flu shots and flu mist are free for children six to 59- months-old and flu shots are $15 and flu mist is $20 for everyone else. Anthem Blue Cross, ConnectiCare and Medicare Part B will be accepted. 2. The Mystic Woman’s Club meets tonight from 7 to 9 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. The Mystic Woman's Club is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Connecticut. 3. The League of Women Voters of Southeastern Connecticut is hosting a post-election meeting featuring Secretary of State Denise Merrill today, at 7 p.m. in New London. Merrill will discuss the details of the election in Connecticut and the U.S. The meeting is free and open to the public, at the New London Senior Center.
4. Today is Operating Room Nurse Day. According to Holiday Insights, Operating Room Nurse Day dates back to Nov. 14, 1989 when Iowan Governor Terry Branstad established the day as way to honor operating room nurses.
