2. Congratulations to Maxine Pearcy of Stonington and Kathy Ledwidge of Mystic The two women are part of Groton Special Recreation’s Special Olympic program and received awards at the 2012 Hall of Fame Dinner Wednesday night.

Pearcy received the Unsung Hero Award, which recognizes volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes for Special Olympics Connecticut with no expectation of recognition or reward. Pearcy lives in Stonington, and works at U.S. Naval Base.

Ledwidge received the Spirit of Life Award, which is presented to the athlete that exemplifies the true meaning of Special Olympics. Ledwidge lives in Mystic and won a Silver Medal in Greece at The World Games in 2011.

I agree. The bottom line is we're all defenseless if we are deprived of our right to bear arms. GunRead More restrictions do nothing to prevent criminals from getting and using guns. They simply impede law-abiding citizens from getting and using them to defend ourselves from the criminals. I don't want to be stuck at a gunfight with nothing more than a cell phone camera.

The unions are in support and wrote this bill with a couple of state representatives. Council 4 ofRead More AFSCME is fighting for this bill to pass for all those that work hard in the State of Connecticut. Any support would be great. Thank you.

my letter will be off monday,i am in total support of this bill. after working your whole life oneRead More should be able to retire with dignity and enjoy your last years. if the unions in the state can work with you for the passage of this bill, this bill SB 54 WILL PASS.
