Daily Five: Sunflowers For Wishes

1. The is taking place now at Buttonwood Farms in Griswold, Connecticut. Sunflower bouquets will be sold for $5.00 each with one hundred percent of the proceeds going directly to Make-A-Wish Connecticut and its mission.

In addition to sunflower bouquets, sunflower t-shirts, note cards and Buttonwood’s own sunflower flavored ice-cream will be available for purchase to support the foundation. Sunflowers for Wishes has raised more than $500,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut, with last year alone raising $90,000 – enough to grant the wishes of more than 10 Connecticut kids just when they need it most. The event ends July 29.

2. Calling all runners and athletic types. Have you made it to one of the yet this season? Well, what are you waiting for? The run starts and finishes in front of the and consists of two 1.55 mile loops. Walk, jog or run one of both loops. The run is free, open to the public and begins at 6 p.m.

3. Buy your tickets for the . The annual fundraiser takes place on Friday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $79 to attend and include food from and open bar and live entertainment. Plus MAC will be raffling off a brand new Vespa custom painted by artists Ted Mikulaski, and there will 99 pieces of art on the wall by regional artists.
