You know the intersection. You’ve driven it thousands of times. You yield and look back to your left toward Elm Street to make sure it’s clear to head on to Beach Street in Westerly – the route many take to get to the beach, shopping, the hospital, doctors appointments, you name it. We’re used to it.
But since the rehabilitation (which was long overdue, by the way) of Elm, that intersection has been changed …and changed dramatically.
Now, Westerly town officials are questioning the new configuration, which includes a sidewalk that literally protrudes out onto Elm Street.
See this report in The Westerly Sun and then tell us, have you noticed the new intersection? What do you think of it?
