Letter to the Editor: Locals Helping Out
This Letter to the Editor was submitted by Stonington resident Marianne Browning.
I live in a small apartment complex in Pawcatuck, Brookside Village. In the wake of something so devastating the basic comforts of a hot meal and a hot drink and even a hot shower can make all the difference in the world.
Our apartment manager LuAnn Reynolds saw the need and went out and bought two generators, along with coffee, milk, donuts and pastries, pizza and a wide variety of essentials, out of her own pocket and turned the Brookside Common Room into a haven for our small community. Her and Mary Crandall (secretary at Brookside), Dan Kearney, Frank Janerio and Joe Stravato (maintenance crew at Brookside) offered Brookside residents, hot drinks and meals, movies and popcorn, and the all important hot shower. They all were so helpful and so accommodating; they were more than willing to assist us with anything we required.
I just wanted to share how these extraordinary acts of kindness from these few people made getting through this storm so much easier for the hundred plus residents of Brookside Village.
