Local Boat May Appear In 'Great Hope Springs'

Crew Of The Evangeline Donating Money To SHYC Sailing Foundation

When Great Hope Springs makes its way to the big screen make sure you try to spot Charlie Hatton’s sailboat in the movie.

Hatton’s 38-foot sailboat the Evangeline was getting ready to appear in the film Thursday morning, but the fog may prevent the boat from actually making it into the final version of Great Hope Springs.

With its white hull and wooden mast, Hatton said, the boat is suppose to help create a typical Maine scene. In the movie the town of Great Hope Springs is in Maine not Stonington, Connecticut. When Hatton heard the director was looking for boats he sent in pictures of the Evangeline.
