Mystic Irish Parade organizers are looking for a few good men and women.
The annual Mystic Irish Parade, which has grown to become one of the region's signature events over its 10 years in existence, needs additional volunteers to help with the logistics on Sunday. The parade starts at 1 p.m.
The need arises from a near-perfect weather forecast for Sunday that is expected to draw a huge number of spectators, as well as a rise in parade marchers. The parade is expected to have a record number of both people watching and people marching.
Organizers need volunteers to help direct marching units, carry banners, set up and break down before and after the parade, and monitor street intersections along the parade route.
"With more than 1,800 marchers expected this year having enough volunteers is critical to the success of the parade," a release from the Mystic Irish Parade Foundation said. "Most volunteer positions are for two hours or less so please sign up today and help us make this the best parade ever!"
