There is also talk of boat tours of the harbor and a scavenger hunt involving cardboard cutouts of the stars. The gist is simple, members of the planning committee would place the cardboard cuts around town each night and each morning people would have to find and take their picture with one of the stars, the first person to do so would receive some sort of prize.

The big event of the weekend would feature a charity benefit cocktail party on Sunday. Guests would be able to choose to have a portion of their tickets to the party donated to a local charity of their choice. The planning committee is hoping to line up guest speakers from the movie crew who would discuss the process of making the movie, and their reasons for picking Stonington as the set of part of the filming.

One of the key concerns of the event planning committee is getting people to come to the borough and support the local businesses.

We’d love to hear your ideas and thoughts on the initial plans. Leave comments below or email bree.shirvell@patch.com.
