Garde Arts Center is hosting a casting call on Thursday for paid extras for an upcoming Cuba Gooding Jr. movie to be filmed in Mystic

Ever wanted to see yourself on the silver screen? You might get your chance in a feature film scheduled for filming in the region this fall.

A feature film starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and portraying a "story of a journey to freedom, and the unshackled spirit of the human heart" will be filming in Mystic at the end of the month. An open casting call for paid background extras has been scheduled for Thursday. This will run from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Garde Arts Center.

Anyone interested in applying should be able to portray a Caucasian or a person from Africa between the ages of 18 and 40. Applicants must be legal to work in the United States. No experience is necessary, and the casting call is open to both the general public and members of the SAG-AFTRA union.

Anyone who isn't able to make the casting call may e-mail a photo and contact information to featurefilmct@gmail.com with the subject line "Africa."
