Local author presents "How to Flirt in Faerieland and Other Wild Rhymes"

Westerly Public Library will be hosting a reading by a local author. "How to Flirt in Faerieland and Other Wild Rhymes" is a new collection of fantastical story-poems by Rhode Island author and award-winning poet C.S.E. Cooney. Author, playwright, and performance artist Cooney's work has appeared in speculative fiction magazines and anthologies such as Apex, Strange Horizons, Goblin Fruit, Clockwork Phoenix 3, Steam-Powered 2 and the Year's Best Science Fiction and Fantasy 2011 and 2012, edited by Rich Horton.

She recently performed an adaptation of her story "Braiding the Ghosts" with the Ottawa Storytellers at the National Arts Centre of Canada. Coyotes, Sea Kings, Fairies, Goddesses, and Beowulf run rampant (and occasionally naked) through her story-poems, which she performs with zest, roguishness, and her tongue firmly in her cheek. Her potential audience should consider her a PG-13 experience.
