Come learn how chickens are raised at Terra Firma Farm!

Join CT NOFA and Brianne Casadei of Terra Firma Farm in Stonington to learn about poultry farming.  Brianne has 1000 layer hens which are pasture-raised in movable chicken coops.  They feed on local grains, grass, and whatever they can find in the pasture raising happy and healthy chickens.  Terra Firma is a Community Farm serving Southeastern Connecticut with educational programs and a Meat and Dairy CSA.

After the workshop there will be a beginning farmer dinner and gathering for those who have farmed for ten years or fewer.  The workshop and beginning farmer mixer are made possible by a grant from the National Institute for Food and Agriculture through the USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program.

Members and Beginning Farmers (ten years or fewer of farming experience): $30
Non-members: $40 (join here: http://ctnofa.org/Join.htm)
Beginning Farmers can apply for a full scholarship here: http://ctnofa.wufoo.com/forms/scholarship-application-to-ct-nofa-workshop/
