Hygienic Art Looking For "Band-O-Matic" Performers
Musicians needed for mix and match concert series returning for second year in Hygienic XXXIV
A unique concert series mixing musicians from various bands is returning to an annual New London arts festival, and organizers are looking for people to join the roster.
Hygienic Art put out the call for artists for the "Rock Lobster Band-O-Matic," which will be put on as part of Hygienic XXXIV. This downtown festival will feature a number of visual and performing arts events including the Salon des Independents gallery showing, a film festival, and theater performances.
The Rock Lobster Band-O-Matic debuted last year and put together a number of random musical acts by lottery. Bands consist of a singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer, and person with talent on another musical instrument. Names will be drawn at the Rock Fix event on Jan. 26 at the Crocker House Ballroom.

Bands will then have two weeks to coordinate their act, come up with a name, and practice at least two songs. One song must be original and one must be a cover. The bands will perform on Feb. 9 at the Oasis Pub for the Hygienic XXXIV closing party.
Anyone interested in participating should submit their name, phone number, e-mail address, best method of contact, and specialty to Rich Martin at rocklobster.band.o.matic@gmail.com. If you are submitting your name for the "other" category, put down which instrument you play. The deadline to submit information is 8 p.m. on Jan. 24.
