In Connecticut, the average gallon of regular gasoline costs $4.05, according to AAA's "Fuel Gauge Report," with the mid-grade at $4.19, premium at $4.31 and diesel at $4.23
Things are bad, but could be worse: The highest-ever recorded price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the Nutmeg State was $4.39—on July 9, 2008.
