Mystic Seaport United Election Will Take Place In August

Mystic Seaport employees began organizing to form a union earlier this spring.

 

employees will vote to decide if they want union representation in August.

According to a press release from AFT Connecticut the election will take place on Friday, August 17, 2012 in the Munson Room in the G.W. Blunt White building. All full-time, regular part-time and seasonal employees will have the chance to vote between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Earlier this spring a number of to form the union called Mystic Seaport United. They hope to join the Connecticut chapter of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), which is the second largest AFL-CIO union in Connecticut.

In July, Mystic Seaport United filed for election with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in Hartford. The NLRB required the union have the before scheduling an election. The Mystic Seaport has around 200 employees.

I agree. The bottom line is we're all defenseless if we are deprived of our right to bear arms. GunRead More restrictions do nothing to prevent criminals from getting and using guns. They simply impede law-abiding citizens from getting and using them to defend ourselves from the criminals. I don't want to be stuck at a gunfight with nothing more than a cell phone camera.

my letter will be off monday,i am in total support of this bill. after working your whole life oneRead More should be able to retire with dignity and enjoy your last years. if the unions in the state can work with you for the passage of this bill, this bill SB 54 WILL PASS.
