Downtown Mystic business last week to halt the Mystic streetscape project until the fall.

Business owners say the project is crushing their businesses and jeopardizing the health of the downtown area.

Downtown Mystic business owners are concerned about the continued delays and are worrying that if paving does not begin until June 25 it could go into the July 4 holiday.
“There is delay after delay,” Donna Williston of said. “It sounds like circumstances are calling the shots.”
According to Groton Planning and Development Director the project for the summer and resuming it in October could have financial consequences and result in higher labor costs.
