Westone Pediatrics Doctor Leaving The Pawcatuck Practice

Dr. Jennifer Campo Will Leave December 1

Almost two months have passed since Pawcatuck pediatrician Dr. Todd Parrilla was charged with possession of child pornography, and now it seems the pediatrics practice where Parrilla was a managing partner will likely close.

Dr. Jeniffer Campo, the other partner in who kept the office running after the charges were filed against announced she will be leaving the practice as of Dec. 1, 2011.

“I’m leaving Westone Pediatrics,” Campo said, saying she preferred not to say what she will do next.

Campo said bulletins announcing her departure would be placed in both The Day and The Westerly Sun and advised any parents with questions to call the office at 860-599-3839.

When Parrilla was charged with many in the local community expressed their shock, and also their support for Dr. Campo and the office staff. The office staff has already began notifying parents of the decision and while looking for new doctors parents are saying how sorry they are to see Campo leave.

“I'm disappointed in the situation as a whole,” said parent Laura Tillinghast.  “I want Dr Campo to know that I understand how difficult it must have been for her to reach this decision and how hard it would have been for her to stay. I will deeply miss the office staff and Dr. Campo and wish them all nothing but the best.”

Christy Post whose child sees Campo said she received a letter in the mail saying Campo would be leaving the area.

"She is an amazing pediatrician and my son loves her," Post said. "It is such a shame that she feels the need to leave the area. People forget that she is a victim in this situation also. We will sorely miss her and just hope we can find a doctor with even half of the patience and compassion as she has."
