Come To The Meet The Artists Show July 28-29 At Olde Mistick Village!

It's free, it's fun, there's great art to see and buy, and you can watch it being made, too!

The Meet the Artists and Artisans show allows art lovers and buyers the chance to see fantastic work by talented artists and artisans, and to talk with the creators of that work, too!

The show is Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, at shopping center, and admission is free.

I'll be painting portraits of animals, and perhaps painting a landscape, too, during the show. I paint in oils, with a palette knife. It's a fun way to paint, and people enjoy watching me, as well.

I won't be the only one working, either! It's fascinating to watch Ronet Noe (The Eclectic Hen) generously applying acrylic paint to her high-relief paintings, which run the gamut from beach scenes to florals to paintings of donuts.

Fran Henderson paints oil murals of calm, coastal views and beautiful flowers, often on interesting supports, such as old doors and windows.

Michael McCarthy carves wooden shorebirds; Nicole Lynch uses oil paints on site to achieve a true-to-nature, realistic approach for her still lifes and studies of living things.

Greg Stones introduces his second published book “Zombies Hate Stuff” accompanied by his humorous miniature gouache paintings.

And that's just the start!

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. It is hosted by Denise Morris Curt, who is presenting her 50th season of successful shows in Connecticut.

I agree. The bottom line is we're all defenseless if we are deprived of our right to bear arms. GunRead More restrictions do nothing to prevent criminals from getting and using guns. They simply impede law-abiding citizens from getting and using them to defend ourselves from the criminals. I don't want to be stuck at a gunfight with nothing more than a cell phone camera.
