3 Social Apps to Use for Your Business

Looking to engage with your customers online? Struggling to figure out how? Many social media apps have been developed over the last few years. While most were intended for personal use, many have the potential to be used successfully by marketers and business owners.

Social media apps are great tools for creating and maintaining relationships with customers where they are already spending time – on their computers and smartphones. Through the creative use of these apps, you can engage with consumers, help them connect with your brand, keep your brand top-of-mind, and create sharable content that your followers will want to spread across their social networks.

Here are 3 social media apps recommended by our CT marketing agency and tips on how to effectively use them to target your audience online.

1) Vine. Twitter’s Vine app allows users to record 6-second looping videos that are easily sharable on Twitter and Facebook. Because video only records while your finger is on the screen, it’s easy to create stop-motion videos and fit a lot of content in the short timeframe. Some ideas for businesses include giving a virtual tool of your office or store, promoting special events, showcasing products or brands, giving a sneak peak of a new product, announcing a special promotion, or creating a mini advertisement.

Twitter recently released it’s Vine app on the Android platform, as it was previously available exclusively on iOS.

2) Keek. Similar to Vine, Keek allows users to record videos to share with friends. The main difference between the two video sharing apps is that Keek vides can be much longer – up to 36 seconds. Keek vides have no stop-motion effect and no filters. Marketers can execute some of the same ideas with Keek as for Vine.

Keek is currently available for both Android and iOS devices.

3) Instagram. Although Instagram has been around for a few years, it continues to be one of the most popular photo sharing apps available. The possibilities with Instagram’s filters are nearly limitless – you can get as creative as you want. Sharing on a variety of social networks – including Twitter and Facebook – is easy with Instagram. Businesses can take picture of products, new displays, events, or anything worth sharing on their social networks.

Instagram is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
