People from around the region brave the chilly rain Saturday to protest Monsanto and call for labeling of genetically modified foods.
The local chapter of DC-based Food & Water Watch called for the movement which is taking place , organizers said, globally today, "as a sign of protest against agribusiness giant Monsanto and to express ongoing support of SB 802 (formerly HB 6519,) an act concerning the labeling of genetically engineered food.”
People from Mystic, Lyme, New London, Groton and Waterford and other regional communities held signs and clapped when drivers honked in support.
