Happy Birthday Stonington-Mystic Patch.

Today is our first Patchiversary! Can you believe it? On December 7, 2010 Stonington-Mystic Patch, had its first day, becoming the sixth Patch site in the southeastern Connecticut region.

What a year it’s been. We’ve published 3,099 articles, 1,484 events, 516 announcements, including 47 requests for volunteers, and 161 blog posts. We now have eight Patch sites across the southeastern Connecticut region and nearly 900 nationwide.

But the numbers don’t even begin to tell the story of the past year. The real story is you—the readers, contributors and promoters. We couldn’t have done it without you.

As a community you fully supported Patch, its mission and me—as an editor, writer and neighbor.

. Your comments provided additional information, answered questions and helped us fact-check. You introduced yourself, shared news and even loaned an iPhone charger.

And while we can’t thank everyone by name we owe special thanks to of the , Jim Truscio of the and , for fully embracing the idea of Patch from the very beginning. And to for giving us an electricity safe haven during Tropical Storm Irene.
