Hurricane Sandy Doesn't Stop Trick Or Treat

Thousands converge on Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mistick Village for trick or treating

The word went out late Tuesday night that Mystic Aquarium - which never lost power during Hurricane Sandy - would open its doors Wednesday night for trick or treating. Old Mistick Village confirmed that its annual tradition of trick or treating from shop to shop was also a go.

This was great news for thousands of trick or treaters who came from towns where Halloween trick or treating was being strongly discouraged because of debris and power outages from Hurricane Sandy. Stonington, Groton, and New London officials all asked parents to refrain from letting their children go out Wednesday night for safety reasons.

In a week that started out with hurricane-winds and some of the highest water the region has ever seen, it was great to see all the smiles on the faces of the princesses, super heroes, robots and skeletons as they collected candy Wednesday night.
