Snow Causes Slippery Conditions and Delays

Rain and sleet expected to continue throughout the morning.

Stonington residents are facing a messy commute after a snow and rain mixture overnight left roads slippery.

 

While Stonington Public Schools is operating on a normal schedule, several Stonington High School students tweeted that their busses were running late due to the weather. Pine Point School has a 90-minute delay.

Several traffic accidents have been reported throughout town, including at the Interstate-95 South Bound Exit 92 ramp, and The Day is reporting a car accident at North Main Street and Route 1 resulted in minor injuries and delays.

Today: Rain and sleet, becoming all rain after 2pm. High near 40. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Total daytime sleet accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Tonight: A slight chance of rain before 9pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 31. West wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
