Winter Weather Advisory In Effect; One To Inches Of Snow Possible

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Stonington, Friday Snow is predicted to begin Friday nightand continue throughout the day Saturday. Here is the weakened forecast as of 8:30 p.m. Friday:

Tonight: A slight chance of rain before 10 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., then snow likely after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 31. Southwest wind at 8 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Saturday: Snow. High near 37. North wind between three and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of one to three inches possible.

Saturday Night: Snow showers likely, mainly before 7 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 20. North wind between seven and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half-inch possible.

Sunday: A chance of flurries before noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 31. Northwest wind between 13 and 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. West wind between 8 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
