Stonington, Groton, New London and Waterford Residents Tell Us What They Learned From Tropical Storm Irene

Hurricane Irene was downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it hit southeastern Connecticut but that didn't stop the storm from causing widespread destruction by flooding and sweeping buildings and houses out to sea, throwing trees onto people's houses and on power lines, and causing state-wide power outages.

Residents were warned well ahead of time and some took the necessary steps, but there are always a few more lessons to be learned during each encounter with Mother Nature.
