Last Sunday evening marked the 9th annual Fish Fry held at . The event raised funds for Calvary outreach, community activities and general operations. Last year the fish fry served between 250-270 people and the same was expected this year, bringing in a goal of $3,000.
Congregation member and idea man behind the fish fry, Don Charbonnier was joined by around 50 volunteers to make the event happen. Haddock was donated by Joe Bomster of Bomster Scallops and fresh corn was purchased at in Mystic while parishioners hand-made cole slaw and gingerbread.
By 7 p.m., the house was packed. Guests, young, old and all ages in between enjoyed a seafood meal, beverages and dessert to the groove of a local jazz trio featuring Craig Bridgeman, Jim Hunter and John Moore.
