Week In Review: Elections, Fishing Trawlers, Smell The Basil

A Recap Of The Week's Top Stories On Stonington-Mystic Patch

It was a busy week in local politics. On Monday, the held their caucus. They endorsed a number of candidates for the 2011 municipal elections including political newcomer Richard McKrell for first selectman. On Tuesday, the held their caucus. The Democrats endorsed 12 candidates, including nine incumbents. On Wednesday, Republican probate candidate Eric Janney and Democrat probate candidate Nick Kepple announced they will hold a joint on August 8 at 7 p.m. at the Mystic & Noank Library. The special election for judge of probate is August 16.

After you’ve smelled the basil take a trip to Paddle Surf Rhode Island in Misquamicut and try stand up paddleboarding. Mystic Yoga Shala hosted a last weekend and it looked like fun was had by all. There are several other clinics throughout the summer and possibly another one at in late August.
