Week In Review: Pizza, Proposals And Cold

Pizza was on the minds of Stonington, Mystic and Pawcatuck residents this week.

In our second Food Fight we asked for users to give us we invited Groton Patch users to participate to find out who has the best slice in Stonington and Groton. We learned Stonington and Groton Patch users don’t just want a good slice they want a place where the owners know their name, a place with New York style pizza and options for gluten and dairy free. But only one pizza place can be the king of pizza in Stonington and Groton. Vote on the top nominations until 5 p.m., today and we’ll announce the results Monday morning.

While we debated pizza Mystic residents celebrated the opening of a business in the long-vacant site on Route 1 at the corner of Noank-Ledyard Road. Valero gas station and convenience store opened after finally receiving approval from the Town of Groton.

It wasn’t just business openings Stonington-Mystic Patch celebrated this week. of the blogged about a very romantic marriage proposal on New Year’s Eve at the tower of the Old Lighthouse Museum.
