A Recap Of The Week’s Top Stories On Stonington-Mystic Patch

 

It was a busy news week and unfortunately not all of it was good news.

On Monday morning a causing locals to come out to see the sight on a Lord’s Point beach and speculate about how the animal ended up there. The young female whale was already dead when it washed ashore and the Mystic Aquarium was unable to do a necroscopy before . The Mystic Aquarium did however, take genetic samples from the whale, which will hopefully provide some answers.

On Monday, the news also came out that ’s fall 2012 tour will be their farewell tour. Many southeastern Connecticut residents have followed the band’s .

Early Tuesday morning a despondent Groton firefighter with Stonington ties took his . State and local police including police from Stonington had spent much of Monday night and early Tuesday morning negotiating with the .
