Halloween in Stonington Day

We are encouraging children to “trick-or-treat” in town and are asking residents and businesses to help us by participating.

I am happy to announce that as planned from the result of Hurricane Sandy, I am designating Friday, November 16 to be Halloween in Stonington Day!

We are encouraging children to “trick-or-treat” in town and are asking residents and businesses to help us by participating. I will be joining other staff by dressing up to lead this fun tradition. We are looking to host the Como Kids at Town Hall, I will be visiting a couple schools, Teens to Tots Program, and we welcome any other “trick or treaters” who want to stop by the Stonington Town Hall open until 4 p.m. and/or the Department of Human Services open until 4:30 p.m.

Please leave your front light on to help “trick-or-treaters” find participating houses. As you know, to provide a safe, disruption free and enjoyable environment for our children, we encouraged children to “trick-or-treat” on this alternative date. We felt November 16 would be an enjoyable alternative date since on October 31 there were unsafe roads and no power as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

I want to personally thank you for your support during the storm and your help in keeping this festive tradition going in Stonington in 2012.

I agree. The bottom line is we're all defenseless if we are deprived of our right to bear arms. GunRead More restrictions do nothing to prevent criminals from getting and using guns. They simply impede law-abiding citizens from getting and using them to defend ourselves from the criminals. I don't want to be stuck at a gunfight with nothing more than a cell phone camera.

The unions are in support and wrote this bill with a couple of state representatives. Council 4 ofRead More AFSCME is fighting for this bill to pass for all those that work hard in the State of Connecticut. Any support would be great. Thank you.
