Become An Artist In Residence At The Hygienic

The Hygienic Resident Artist Program has a vacancy! We are looking for a talented emerging artist to join our cooperative environment. Join our community by renting this affordable studio with gallery access.

The not-for-profit Hygienic Art, Inc. has for thirty-five years directly served, presented, supported and worked with artists in Southeastern CT. In lieu of an Arts Council in Southeastern, CT low and moderate income artists have relied on Hygienic for a range of supportive services and programs. Hygienic has provided the only low/moderate income artist housing in the region in addition to directly serving 10,000 artists since its inception and fielding over 400 queries a year from artists. Hygienic has established itself as the ‘go-to’ organization for direct work with artists and other non-profit organizations.

The Hygienic Resident Artist Program offers support to emerging artists. Residents have frequent opportunities to participate in gallery shows and other Hygienic programming. The resident program offers a supportive environment for artists to explore their skill set, gain feedback and expand their professional network.

We are now taking applications through Wednesday, April 2. Please visit hygienic.org to download an application. Artists can either mail the application or drop it off at the galleries during regular gallery hours (Tuesday - Thursday 11-3pm, Friday & Saturday 11-6pm, Sunday 12-3pm). For more information, please contact Hygienic Resident Artist Kim Abraham at ybyogikim@yahoo.com.
