International prizewinning Organist Katelyn Emerson in Recital!

The New London County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists presents young international prizewinning organist, Katelyn Emerson in recital.  The recital is FREE and open to the public and will take place at United Church in Stonington on the historic 1870 E & G. G. Hook organ.

The youngest of seven finalists, Ms. Emerson received the title of Laureate and 

was awarded Third Place among other prizes in the VIII Mikael Tariverdiev

International Organ Competition held in Kaliningrad, Russia. She won the

Special Prize of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Society and will make her

Russian concertizing debut in Krasnoyarsk, Russia in 2014.  Winner of the

2011 Region V American Guild of Organists AGO/Quimby Regional Competition for

Young Organists in Lexington Kentucky, Ms. Emerson performed as a “Rising Star”

at the AGO National Competition in Nashville, TN during the summer of 2012. She

also won first place in the L. Cameron Johnson Memorial Competition for High

School Organists in 2010 and received the 2013 M. Louise Miller Scholarship.
