FISH FRY AND CRAFT SHOW, PAWCATUCK VFW, Post 1265

160 South Broad Street, Pawcatuck, CT  06379

A really busy weekend is coming up for the Pawcatuck VFW. Last year they replaced the peaked parts of the VFW roof. They ran out of money for the flat roof. It is leaking. They have been doing Fish & Chips weekly since Lent started in an effort to raise enough funds to redo the roof and make  some necessary updates to the kitchen.

Working as one unit, the VFW Club, Ladies Auxiliary and Men’s Auxiliary have combined to provide the manpower for these events.

FISH FRY

Friday April 11, is Good Friday. We will be offering our now famous Fish & Chips. Fresh Cod, and golden brown French Fries,. We make our own coleslaw and tartar sauce, no preservatives. Only $9.00. Our head chef is Captain Tim who, with his wife Sue, owned and ran the Captain Tim’s Restaurant. If you ate there, you know what our fish tastes like. The fish can be Beer Battered, Lean Battered or for an extra $1.00, Baked. We also make our own Rhode Island (clear broth) clam chowder, you have to try this chowder, excellent, only $3.00. Coffee is included and there is a bar in the room for additional beverages. Our facility caters to the handicapped with an entrance at the front of the building, via a ramp. There is more than ample parking in the rear. Come on over and I[‘m sure you will see many of your friends here at our Fish Fry. Hours are from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Next week is the final week of the season. We will open at noon to serve lunch, the event will close at 7:00 PM, but, if you are in line, you will get served.

April 11 is not Good Friday, the correct date is April 18.

You are absolutely correct. My error. Thanks for pointing that out.
