11th Annual Honor Book Days @ Bank Square Books

Bank Square Books in historic downtown Mystic, CT is hosting the 11th Annual Honor Book Weekend on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 to support the Mystic & Noank Library. Librarians from the Library have chosen hundreds of books that they would like for the Library’s collection. Patrons are invited to browse through the selected titles and purchase one or more in honor of a friend or loved one.  A custom bookplate will be put in the chosen book, leaving a permanent record of the donation.

Last year, the Library added 180 books to its shelves, valued at over $3,000. Through the generosity of the Mystic community and the owners of Bank Square Books, this has become a popular way to donate directly to the Library. Books for all tastes will be available to purchase from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 20 and 21. They will include children’s books, cookbooks, travel books, novels and non-fiction.

The Mystic and Noank Library is a public association library. Located in the town of Groton, the Library serves residents of Mystic, Noank, Groton Long Point, Stonington, Center Groton and Old Mystic. The Library was established in 1893 by Captain Elihu Spicer, who donated the land and building for the communities of Mystic and Noank. The Library offers books, periodicals, movies and other resources and programs for pre-schoolers to senior citizens.
