Help a Local Woman with Her Fight Against Cancer

Barbara Kleeman is a local doctor who has been diagnosed with breast cancer and her family is raising money for her cause via the GoFundMe Web site.

According to the page on GoFundMe, she will have surgery on Jan. 21, and will be out of work for four to eight weeks. When she is able to return, she may have more limited hours, depending upon the need for continued treatment, appointments, etc.

The page states, "More than anything, she hopes to recover, to return to serving her patients, to seeing her granddaughter grow up, to laugh with her friends and family, to serving her church community, and to fish again on Long Island Sound.... Not necessarily in that order! Any donation will be appreciated, as she will have high deductibles, uncovered medical bills, overhead expenses, rent, etc. to pay while she is recovering. Mom has "been there" for me my entire life and she has given all that she can to you, her 'other family.'"
