“On December 15, 2013, around 2 a.m., The McKern family awoke to find their kitchen on fire. This quickly overcame the upstairs of their home and forced them to evacuate to safety while they watched their home go up in flames. We are all very thankful that they were able to evacuate the entire family, including their pets without anyone getting hurt. Their well-being and safety is in the forefront of all of our minds.

Now, they must begin to rebuild from this horrible tragedy and they have a very long and stressful road ahead of them. They have lost much of everything due to smoke and water damage. The cleanup and rebuilding is going to take months and the insurance will take quite a bit of time to come to a settlement. They are in need of immediate assistance to help them in their recovery efforts. They cannot live in their home and are currently staying with friends.”
