Oyster Club Opens In Downtown Mystic!

A Recipe For Success

The farm-and-sea-to-table restaurant designed by Stonington architect combines locally sourced seafood, produce and meats with a comfortable dining room, an engaging bar and street side café.

Oyster Club, is the brainchild of Stonington resident Dan Meiser.  James Wayman, who worked at in Stonington and the River Tavern in Chester, Conn., is the executive chef.

Michael McKinley and Associates’ design expanded a turn-of-the-century building (the former Pomme Fritte) to accommodate a new dining room and bar.  The new architecture appears as though it was added over time for a light industrial use such as boat building.  The historic industrial appearance of the new construction is highly compatible with the neighborhood and the restaurant’s “casual fine dining” theme. The Historic District Commission enthusiastically approved the project at its first public hearing.
