Where is your Breath?

When was the last time you noticed that you were breathing? We often go through the motions of our days without much thought to breathing. So take a moment right now. Sit comfortably and alert. Close your eyes. Let your breath slowly draw into your body. Notice what it feels like to have the cool air come into your nostrils. When your breath seems to stop, sip in just a little tiny bit more breath. Slowly exhale all of the air out of your body, noticing how warm the air is as it travels out. Continue like this for at least five breaths, setting your mind on making your exhale just a little bit longer than your inhale. When you are ready, gently open your eyes and take in the world around you, perhaps with fresh perspective. Notice if your body and mind feel a bit more relaxed and calm. Incorporate this into your daily life whenever it seems like the world is a bit too hectic.

See you on the mat!
