The other night at dinner out with friends, we were talking about how blessed we were to live where we live, because our kids are having a true "small-town" childhood that includes riding their bikes to the beach, running over to the neighbors, or making plans to meet up at the playground.
Of course when we bought our house, we had just gotten married and had no thoughts about what it would be like raising our family there. We knew the schools in town were good, but mostly we bought the house because it was a great deal near lots of amenities. It was later, when we needed to either add on or move, that we realized we wanted to stay for the small-town-feel of the area.
Why do you live where you live? Magazines and websites love to make lists of the "best places to live," like this annual survey from Money on the 100 best small towns, or this annual piece in Connecticut Magazine that always serves to get folks riled up.
Take our poll, add your thoughts in the comments, and upload a photo that best shows why you love where you live.
