If you’re really quiet you can almost hear the baseball bats swinging, the waves propelling surfers, and the running shoes hitting the pavement. But none of our favorite warm weather sports would be possible without the right equipment.
When we to buy sporting goods in New London County we got suggestions that included the big box stores and the small mom and pop ones.
We’ve loved reading your comments and reviews on Patch as well as the comments posted on Facebook and Twitter, but only one sporting goods store can be king of the 2012 Readers’ Choice. To finish off this Readers’ Choice, we need you to vote on one of the top user choices:
: The Waterford location of the big box store was a popular choice. “There is really only one place in this area to go for sporting goods—Dick’s,” wrote. We’ll find out Saturday if Soleman is right.
Benny’s: This was the surprise nomination, but swears “…every once in a while you find something great for a terrific price at Benny’s.” With locations in and it’s worth considering.
: The Olde Mistick shop is a favorite among runners. The late Boston Marathon champion and southeastern Connecticut native founded the store years ago and it has become a Mystic institution.
Olympia Sports: With locations in and Waterford, Patch users applauded Olympia for the customer service. “…their service is excellent, good staff there and sometimes great deals,” wrote.
: The go-to store for ‘life on water,' West Marine was one of our Facebook nominations this week.
: The chain’s Waterford location was a late nomination from . “Always found cleats at Bob's in Waterford for $20 or under.”
