The Amazing Race, Dexter, 666 Park Avenue

TV tips for Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012

The Amazing Race, 8 p.m., CBS

And so, kids, the important lesson we learned last week is a) if you are nice, you will not win the extra million bucks and b) cab drivers will lose the game for you. The nice couple went home after the worst cabbie ever drove them to last place. And while the twins’ high-pitched hysteria is getting on our nerves, I did love the enthusiasm with which they attacked that fish challenge. Tonight, “there’s no crying in baseball,” whatever that means.

Dexter, 9 p.m., Showtime

As much as Dexter redeemed itself with the season premiere, so it lost ground last week with that bizarre episode to nowhere. This whole Deb Knows thing is going to be annoying.

666 Park Avenue, 10 p.m., ABC

OK, I’m out. This is waaaaay too scary for me. I barely survived the premiere. I’m done. Tonight, “Jane repeatedly sees glimpses of a what may be an apparition; Gavin grooms Henry for a career change; a young journalist residing at the Drake realizes that anything she writes becomes the truth.”

"666 Park Avenue" should be named be careful with you wish for instead. In the last episode we learned that Annie Morgan is new journalist and whatever she writes comes true. I’m glad that my Hopper automatically records all of my favorite prime time shows for me like this one. I work for DISH and I can tell you that the Hopper has a Primetime Anytime feature that automatically records all of my prime time shows that come on CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC everyday in HD.
