Fill This Spot: Thread Mill Property on River Road

What would you like to see move into this empty spot?

The old Thread Mill was suppose to be home to apartments and businesses by now. Instead the property on River Road in Pawcatuck sits empty.

Last December, The Day,  reported the Town of Stonington was, “preparing to cite the mill's owners, POKO Partners LLC of Port Chester, N.Y., with violating the town's distressed buildings ordinance. POKO would then have the choice of making repairs and securing the building or tearing it down.”

, told The Day he wanted to keep the town’s old mills active, using Mystic’s renovated and Stonington’s Velvet Mill as examples.

What would you like to see move into the Thread Mill property? Should POKO Partners LLC have one more chance to turn the place into apartments? Or do you have another idea for what would be the perfect business or enterprise to occupy the old Thread Mill building?

I agree. The bottom line is we're all defenseless if we are deprived of our right to bear arms. GunRead More restrictions do nothing to prevent criminals from getting and using guns. They simply impede law-abiding citizens from getting and using them to defend ourselves from the criminals. I don't want to be stuck at a gunfight with nothing more than a cell phone camera.
