PLL-NS verses East Lyme

The Pawcatuck-North Stonington Major softball All-Stars started tournament play Thursday night. Pawcatuck hosted the game against East Lyme. The result was a 17-0 win for the local girls. The game was halted after four innings due to the mercy rule.

After one inning Pawcatuck-NS was up 1-0 on a run scoring single by Trinity Lennon that plated Colette Dreher. The score remained the same after two complete innings.

Things changed in the third inning when Pawcatuck-NS sent 15 batters to the plate scoring 11 runs. The hitting was lead by a Lainnie Connor Home run, Colette Dreher, Trinity Lennon doubles and singles by Dani Coan, Abby Flakus (2), Trinity Lennon, Lainnie Connor.

The fourth inning the team again used their bats to drive in more runs. After sending ten batters to the plate PLL-NS scored five more runs. The hitting was lead by Lainnie Connor doubled and singles were provided by Gabby Dellacono (2), Briana Beverly, Colette Dreher.

Trinity Lennon and Kendra Perez comprised the pitching combination that held East Lyme to zero runs, allowing one hit, striking out seven and issuing no walks.

The next game for the PLL-NS team will be June 21st at PLL verses Lyme/Old Lyme.
