10:20 p.m. update:

TheDay.com is reporting on its Facebook page that Daisha Rhodes has been found safe and a suspect has been arrested.

Original story:

According to several media reports and First Selectman Ed Haberek Jr.'s Facebook page, an Amber Alert was issued late Monday for Daisha Rhodes, a 9-year-old girl who was last seen in Stonington with Daniel Candales in a silver 2005 Ford F-150 or F-250 truck with a snowplow and sander attachment.

According to Haberek's Facebook post, Candales is the girl's mother's boyfriend, and the truck's license plate is 82CP75. The truck evaded police after a chase earlier Monday, and the girl's status is unknown. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, black snow boots and a red snow jacket.

Anyone with any information is urged to call 911.

I agree. The bottom line is we're all defenseless if we are deprived of our right to bear arms. GunRead More restrictions do nothing to prevent criminals from getting and using guns. They simply impede law-abiding citizens from getting and using them to defend ourselves from the criminals. I don't want to be stuck at a gunfight with nothing more than a cell phone camera.
