Checkout Line Taunt Lands Pawcatuck Man in Court

The accused allegedly threatened a New Haven Superior Court judge in Stop & Shop, The Day reports.

An alleged threat in the grocery store checkout line sent Pawcatuck resident Justin Lanoie to New London Superior Court Tuesday, The Day reports.

Lanoie was having trouble scanning garbage bags and toilet paper in the self-checkout lane in Stop & Shop last month, when he was cautioned by fellow Pawcatuck resident and New Haven Superior Court Judge John Nazzaro that he could end up in jail for shoplifting, The Day said.

Lanoie allegedly retorted with, “Snitches like you end up in cemeteries," The Day reports.

According to The Day, Lanoie is facing a charge of second-degree threatening.
